Youth in Philanthropy Application

Youth in Philanthropy Application
YIP ApplicationThe Youth in Philanthropy is a program that involves high school students who consider worthwhile charities in their local community for grants of up to $500 to each charity.  Morris and Rosenort School are proud to announce that they have joined in this amazing opportunity to help.
This six-year program is initiated by The Thomas Sill Foundation and partly by the Morris Area Foundation (MAF).   The local high schools and community foundation will establish a Youth Advisory Committee who will make decisions and consider applications.    The Thomas Sill Foundation will make $3,500 available to the Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) for a period of 3 years with the expectation that the MAF will continue to fund the program for another 3 years.
Students will have the opportunity to make decisions, and will learn knowledge and skills as active and informed philanthropists. This will help to bring about positive and lasting change in our communities.
Applications for grants will be easily accessible online and at Morris School for pickup, or you can contact Morris School and we will find a way for you to get an application. After the deadline, the group will meet three or four times to consider what charities we will award the grant money to. If we decide to award your charity, we will contact you with information. Please be patient as these decisions aren’t made overnight! We will host a ceremony at our school where the charities we have decided to give grants will receive them. We thank everyone for your interest and charity work in our community!
