In September of 2011, Morris School introduced a Hockey Canada Skills Academy. This academy is a partnership between Hockey Canada and Morris School.
The mission of the Morris School Hockey Canada Skills Academy is to provide an environment where student-athletes can pursue personal hockey skill development while pursuing academic excellence. We are dedicated to providing a safe environment in which students can improve their level of skill, build positive relationships, and have fun learning the game of hockey.
Our vision is to create an enriching middle and high school experience for all students in grades 5-12 regardless of experience and skill level. The Morris School Hockey Canada Skills Academy is available to both female and male players. We aspire to improve our students knowledge of high performance hockey by teaching technical and tactical skills in a progressive and dynamic manner. We will also strive to build good athletes, good citizens, and winners in life with passion and integrity.
The Morris School Hockey Canada Skills Academy has a commitment to building excellence, discipline, dedication, time management, and strength of character in our students. We will challenge students to achieve their personal goals through the development of their hockey skill sets, while at the same time improving their physical fitness. This will be done through the curriculum set out by Hockey Canada and supported with elite level coaching and instruction.
